Zolt Brand Review
If you’ve ever tried to bring a bottle of CBD oil with you when you’re out and about, you know how messy it can get. I take CBD with me everywhere – shopping, working, traveling – you name it. But last week, as we were planning a camping trip to Downeast Maine, I found myself trying to figure out the easiest way to transport my trusty tinctures. Camping can be a messy affair, especially tent camping. Between the sun, sand, and bugs, there are many things to pack to protect yourself from the elements. I didn’t want to carry a leaky bottle of tincture in my backpack, and capsules aren’t really my thing.
Then I remembered the box of Zolt sitting on my desk. When I first got this product, I didn’t think I would use it too much. CBD oil and tincture is my go-to product for just about everything, and like all humans, I resist change. But I decided to have a closer look. I had to admit, the convenience of the pre-measured packets could be a game-changer.
So, What is Zolt?
By now, you’re wondering what Zolt is. It’s a powdered beverage (like a lemonade mix) that can be combined with water or other liquids to create a nutritious drink. It’s packed with ingredients designed to help you live healthier (adaptogens and antioxidants like ashwagandha and astralagus, for example), each painstakingly sourced to create the most effective beverage possible.
There are plenty of options out there when it comes to healthy drinks, so what makes Zolt so special? Each pre-measured packet (Zolt calls them “mixie sticks”) also contains 20 mg of CBD. And it’s not just any CBD. It’s CBD on steroids. Why? Zolt is made using a unique process similar to nanotechnology, so the cannabidiol separates into tiny particles that make them more bioavailable—meaning they get into your bloodstream easier and faster.
Nanotechnology is not new, but when it comes to CBD, it is. More producers are embracing this manufacturing method as it may offer a better way for the cells of the brain and body to absorb the compound. It makes a whole lot of sense, especially when you look at the data – it turns out, your body can’t even access half of the cannabinoids within other CBD formats. Yeah, I know. Definitely makes me rethink tincture as my go-to CBD.
|Format||Bioavailability (% your body uses)
|Tinctures||13 – 19%; some claims of up to 35%
|Edibles, capsules, gummies, concentrates||6 – 20%
|Water-soluble nanoemulsion (Zolt)||90%
Camping With Zolt
As soon as we arrived at our destination, I was tired, sore, and cranky. My partner reminded me that we had brought “those CBD thingies” (yes, that is what he actually called them) and suggested I try one. I used the full-spectrum Dial-Up + Tarim Peach Tea formula and shook it in a large reusable bottle of cold water.
Not only was the drink tasty, but it was also super thirst-quenching. I hadn’t even realized how dehydrated I was getting in the hot car. I decided to sit in the shade in my camp-chair, listen to the birds, finish my Zolt, and chill out for a bit. Within minutes, I was feeling much better. My irritability dissolved, and the headache I had felt coming on dissipated. Zolt bills this formula as “your mid-day jumpstart,” and that’s precisely what happened. I felt renewed.
Over the next few days, we plowed through the rest of our mixie sticks, sampling the other formulas. These included the Rise Tropical Orange and Morning Lemon Tea flavors, Balance Coconut flavor, Dreamy Honey Citrus Tea (great for sleeping), and an unflavored variety that my 16-year-old mixed in with Gatorade.
All-in-all, I feel like the product lives up to its claims. I definitely felt the effect of the CBD at least as much as I do when taking 20 mg of a tincture. For me, that equals calm, more alert, and less achy.
The full-spectrum Zolt is best when adding ice and even a little more water than suggested, as the flavors are good but stronger than the CBD isolate varieties. We also did a fair amount of stirring to keep the antioxidants and adaptogens suspended in the drink rather than settling on the bottom. This is normal and was easily accomplished by shaking our water bottle.
The isolate (THC-free) is great for those with taste sensitivities or who really need to avoid THC altogether. It dissolves completely and, in the case of flavorless Balance, can be more versatile for combining CBD isolate into a cocktail or other mixer that’s not water.

Zolt is a unique CBD product that fills a need for something fast-acting, yet convenient. Although capsules are highly portable as well, they take longer to work than Zolt’s mixie sticks. They are, by far, one of the easiest ways we have found to take CBD while traveling. They need no refrigeration, and you can pop them in a backpack, purse, briefcase, gym bag, glove compartment, or lunchbox for a simple and refreshing pick-me-up any time. If cold drinks don’t appeal to you, Zolt can be added to warm water or tea.
While I’m a creature of habit and love my regular old CBD tincture, Zolt’s at least got a coveted spot at the top travel packing checklist. As for working it into my everyday routine, even this creature of habit is open to it. They’ve got a variety for every possible mood, performance, and time-of-day scenario – guess I’ll get busy trying them all.
